Late to the party however this one is simply too smart to pass up:
I was once on a U.S.A. military ship, having breakfast within the military quarters (officers lounge) once the Operations Officer (OPS) walks in. This guy was the definition of NOT a morning person; he is still 0.5 asleep, bleary saucer-eyed... primarily a zombie with a roll. He sits down across from American state to eat his roll and is simply barely aware. My back is to the outboard facet of the ship, and also the morning sun is blazing in one among the portholes putt an enormous bright-ass circle of sunshine right his barely aware face. he is squinched and manduction and primarily simply basic cognitive process the way to be alive for these days. It's painful to look at.
But then zombie-OPS stops manduction, slowly picks up the phone, and dials the bridge. In his well-known I'm-still-totally-asleep voice, he says "heeeey. It's OPS. Could you... shift our barpat... yeah, one six 5. Thanks." And puts the phone down. then he simply sits there. Squinting. Waiting.
And then, ever slowly, I notice that that huge blazing spot of sun has begun to slip off the zombie's face and onto the wall behind him. once an instant it clears his face and he blinks slowly many times and also the good fantastic thing about what I've simply witnessed begins to overwhelm American state. By ordering the bridge to regulate the ship's back-and-forth patrol by regarding fifteen degrees, he is modified our course simply enough to reposition the sun off of his face. he is virtually simply redirected thousands of plenty of steel and many individuals so he may get the sun out of his eyes whereas he grub his roll. i'm in awe.
He slowly picks up his roll and for an instant i am panicky at the thought that his own genius might escape him, that he might ne'er appreciate the epic brilliance of his laziness (since he isn't aiming to come to life for an additional hour). however between his next bites he pauses, appearance at American state, and offers American state the faintest, sly grin, before returning to gnaw slowly on his zombie roll.
